Jeep 2018 Big Reveal and Cult Recognition
Join the Cult
Many automotive brands have tried but they have all failed. That’s right – Jeep is the first and only automotive brand to have received an official cult brand title by The Society of Cult Brands. This year, The Society gathered at their annual event aptly named “The Gathering”, to induct the next round of nominees into their rightful place along such cult brands as Gatorade, PlayStation®, Beats by Dre™, Vans®, Snickers®, Jack Daniels, and many more. Industry thought leaders and senior executives came together to recognize those brands that dominate their industries by winning the undying, irrational loyalty and devotion of their customers around the world. The iconic Jeep brand has earned its place among their community of love-crazed consumers and sets their sights on total domination for the 2019 year.
The Big Reveal
It feels like only yesterday that Jeep released some of their biggest news in recent history. What has been conceptualized for the last ten years has finally become a reality with the announcement of the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator at the Los Angeles Auto Show. For the avid Jeep fan, the Gladiator is a throwback name. However, this reimagined Jeep pickup truck is not the vision of days past. Things have certainly changed for the better. With four trims to choose from – Sport, Sport S, Overland, and Rubicon – consumers can personalize their vehicle while get the most out of their off-road adventuring. And any member of the Jeep family will know that a Jeep wouldn’t be a Jeep without the numerous customization and configuration options offered by the rest of the lineup. Keeping with tradition, the Jeep Gladiator will feature the ability to remove the doors and choose between a removable hardtop, soft top, or both for a true open-air experience.
Taking the Redeye
The widely anticipated 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye rolled off the production line in October of this year. In this short time, the iconic muscle car has pushed its bigger brother, the Demon, out of the spotlight. Report after report showcased this beast as having Demon-like qualities, ultimate performance capabilities, and a style that pays homage to the muscle car glory days. Featuring 797 horsepower, a dual-snorkel hood scoop, an increased-capacity supercharger, and a higher 6500-rpm redline, 2018 proved that the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is the muscle car to get for any high performance enthusiast.
Addressing the Hellephant in the Room
Dodge and Mopar created quite the stir this year when they unveiled their “Hellephant” crate engine – a massive V8 engine capable of producing 1,000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque. The best part? Mopar has actually made this available for consumers. Earlier this year, Mopar announced the Hellephant Will be sold as a stand-alone item intended to be placed into project cars. To showcase the beauty and full potential of this beast, Mopar presented it at the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, under the hood of a 1968 Dodge Charger.
