Here’s What the 2021 Ram Trucks Pickup Lineup Has to Offer

September 10th, 2020 by

When it comes to the 2021 Ram Trucks lineup, the truck mader added features to its pickups to make them not only better to look at, but also much more capable than ever. The Ram Heavy Duty lineup receives minor cosmetic upgrades, while the Ram 1500 model gets a trickle of new available features from the all-new Ram 1500 TRX. And speaking of the Ram 1500 TRX, 2021 marks its debut year as it chews up terrain with its supercharged power.

2021 Ram 1500

Given that this model was overhauled merely two years ago, there are no massive changes for the 2021 model. Updates include the addition of an available head-up display, a camera-based rearview mirror, and Ram’s Off-Road Group that displays accessory gauges, ride height, transfer case position, and pitch and roll angles. Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking is a new standard feature, except on the Tradesman and Bighorn trims. Ram also offers buyers an additional Driver-Assist Package that adds features such as Lane-Keep Assist, Semi-Autonomous Parking Aid, Pedestrian Detection with Emergency Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Ram also offers a new trailer reversing steering control system, along with power-folding trailer mirrors and a wired trailer camera kit. Those in colder climates can opt for the snow plow kit that’s got a 220-amp alternator, a power-sliding rear window defroster, and plow wiring hardware. To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Longhorn trim, Ram also offers an Anniversary Edition package that’s got distinctive interior and exterior badging, special carpeting, metal pedal covers, and brown interior upholstery and trim details. There are no changes in store for the Ram 1500 Classic for the 2021 model year.

2021 Ram 1500 TRX

New to the lineup, the Ram 1500 TRX is the long-awaited off-road production pickup truck. Easily the most powerful pickup ever, the Ram 1500 TRX boasts a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 under its hood, with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The powerful engine isn’t the only tool in this pickup’s arsenal, the modified chassis works to increase durability and lower the vehicle’s overall weight, along with a stronger rear axle. On the inside, the Ram 1500 TRX offers buyers model-specific seats, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen display, Easter eggs, a steering wheel with paddle shifters and more.

Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty

Few changes are in store for the Heavy Duty Ram pickups seeing as to how they were only updated last year (2019), but that doesn’t mean Ram is selling itself short when it comes to the HD pickups. There’s a newly-available Limited Night Edition Package, giving the trucks a blacked-out aesthetic. Most of the changes are visible on the exterior of the pickups, as the chrome grille is replaced with a blacked-out one, while all badging is also blacked-out as are the 20-inch wheels as well. Handling and riding is where the Ram Heavy Duty pickups shine, thanks to the many options available — including a 1,000 lb-ft torque turbo diesel engine. Truck cabins remain an upscale experience thanks to the materials chosen along with innovative noise-cancelling technology.
