2019 RAM 2500
Do you need to move mountains? No worries the 2019 Ram 2500 is the truck for the job. The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty trucks are the hardest-working, most capable pickups Ram offers that doesn’t require a commercial driver’s license. The Rams also specialize in high-tech features, making the truck the most civilized heavy-duty model out there.
Avail. Engine Type
With the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty, buyers have the option of choosing between a 6.4-liter V8 with an 8-speed automatic, or there are two different versions of the 6.7-liter inline-6 Cummins turbodiesel to choose from as well. There is the standard-output 6.7-liter in either the 2500 or 3500. Keep in mind that heavy-duty trucks, such as the Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500, are not EPA-rated for fuel economy.
Transmission & Towing
The smart diesel exhaust brake offers a downhill braking at an even speed without overheating the truck’s brakes. The blind-spot monitoring takes into account vehicles on either side of you. There is an available auxiliary camera system which shows what’s behind the trailer while driving. Also included is the trailer-tire-pressure monitor. The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty is the first vehicle in making the regular mirror and the convex tow mirror below it power-adjustable. The towing pulls 19,780 lbs.
The 2019 Heavy Duty Ram’s has a bold new styling which is more angular and sharper than its previous models. The nose of the vehicle uses crisp, modern lines, which help define the precise-looking front end. The narrow directional LED headlights flank a split grille, and the Ram crosshairs are no longer part of the design. The different trim levels use their versions of the grille. The Power Wagon, which has its unique styling cues, sports a grille that resembles a handlebar mustache. The Ram 2500 comes only in the single-rear-wheel layout (two wheels in the front and two in the back). The dual-rear-wheel models are the most capable in the lineup, offering the highest towing capacity, at 35,100 pounds.
The Ram Heavy Duty 2019 trucks have stepped up their interior appearance and quality. Each trim has its design, with good-looking premium and long-lasting materials. Ram’s redesigned dashboard houses an optional 12-inch touch screen. If buyers prefer having more tactile controls like knobs and buttons, they can get those with the smaller 8.4-inch display instead. The new Ram Heavy Duty trucks use acoustic glass to reduce ambient sound by almost ten decibels and active noise cancellation.
The Heavy Duty interior bins and boxes offer up to 258 liters of storage. In addition to the massive center console, which can be reconfigured in 12 different ways, such as a dual glove box, extra room for when the rear bench seat is folded up, and the two Ram Bins in the floor on Crew Cab models are covered and hidden from view.
Available is wireless smartphone charging and up to five USB ports in the center console, which include a USB type-C. Buyers can also get up to three 115-volt 3-prong outlets in the cab. They are up front, one in the back, and one in the RamBox as well.
Whether drivers are using the base 5-inch screen or the optional 12-inch behemoth, the Ram’s Uconnect system is easy to use and has a quick response time to the commands drivers give it. Smartphone connectivity is standard on all but the two lowest trim levels, and there is no shortage of locations to plug in your devices.
