2019 Ram ProMaster Highlights

February 5th, 2019 by

Ram doesn’t only offer exceptional pickups – both light- and heavy-duty – the brand also offers commercial vehicles like the versatile ProMaster. A cargo van with 15 body and wheelbase combinations, the ProMaster is Ram’s Class 2 cargo vehicle, and the larger of two vans offered in the commercial lineup – the other being the smaller ProMaster City.

The ProMaster is unique in the large cargo van segment thanks to its standard front-wheel drive. Additionally, Ram sells the van with a variety of roof heights and wheelbase lengths for maximum payload hauling instead of selling it in a passenger-only configuration. For the 2019 model year Ram has made capability and technology upgrades, including an increased towing capability of up to 6,800 pounds, new fleet management tech, new grille branding to match Ram’s latest pickup lineup, and three new body configurations.

The ProMaster is offered in three body configurations- cargo van, chassis cab, and cutaway. Those three body styles can be configured as a 1500, 2500, or even 3500 trim. It’s important to note that some of the heavier-duty-oriented configurations are only available as high-roof models.

2019 marks the first year in which a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 will be standard under the hood of every ProMaster cargo van – regardless of trim or configuration. When paired with the standard automatic transmission, the Pentastar engine powering the ProMaster is capable of generating 280 horsepower and up to 260 lb-ft of torque.

Payload on the 2019 Ram ProMaster ranges from 3,762 to 4,427 pounds and depends on the configuration and trim chosen. The maximum towing capacity of the 2019 Ram ProMaster taps out at 5,100 pounds and is dependent on the configuration as well.

Fuel Economy

Now that the diesel engine option is gone for the 2019 model year, only the gasoline engine specs remain. The ProMaster offers buyers a fuel economy of 13 mpg in the city and up to 18 mpg while on the highway.

Standard safety features on the 2019 ProMaster include a rear-view camera and supplemental airbags. Optional upgrades like remote start and a handy security alarm are available to every ProMaster model. Additionally, the ProMaster can be outfitted with orange seat belts and a DOT-certified roadside safety kit as well. Perfect in case of any emergency!

Bluetooth capability with voice command and a 5-inch touchscreen display are both standard on every Ram ProMaster. A USB port and steering wheel controls are standard as well, while Navigation can be added to every model. Optional features across the line include a Wi-Fi hotspot and Sirius XM Satellite radio.

Upfitting is key when it comes to the ProMaster, and its interior can be tailored to suit the needs of every particular owner. An interior convenience package offers a locking glove box, under-seat storage trays, a windshield document clip, and a cargo net. Individual cargo shelves, trailer-tow packages, and even an ambulance prep package are all available for the ultimate customization.
