Engine Type

Buyers have a choice of three different engines to choose from to power the 2022 Durango and give it as much force as they’d like as well as mechanical variety. Choose from the 3.6.L Pentastar V6 engine (that offers 295 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque, and a best-in-class towing capacity of up to 6,200 lbs), the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine (that offers 360 horsepower, 390 lb-ft of torque, and a best-in-class towing capacity of up to 8,700 lbs), and the 6.4L HEMI V8 engine (that offers 475 horsepower, zero to sixty in 4.7 seconds, and a best-in-class towing capacity of up to 8,700 lbs). 

Rear-Wheel Drive is standard on the 2022 Durango, however, buyers have the option to choose All-Wheel-Drive instead if they prefer that. The SRT trim is the only exception as it only comes in All-Wheel-Drive. Each Durango comes equipped with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission, making it a powerful and fluid vehicle to drive. It also offers drivers great fuel economy with 19-MPG in the city, and 26-MPG on the highway!

While the Durango offers buyers three different options for engine types, each of them has plenty of guts for everyday regular drives to and from work, as well as towing whatever they need for adventures no matter how far. The V6 has no shortages when it comes to the power and capability it offers, though upgrading to either of the two V8 engines will definitely add some more fun and spice to any drive. Both V8 engines offer a more unique character to this crossover muscle car, and boost that towing capability significantly, while still giving smoothness when behind the wheel. 

Exterior Features

The 2022 Dodge Durango is a unique blend of that muscle car style with every bit of a crossover that’s fit for the entire family. The exterior presents attitude with its striking proportions, and sharp LED lighting, the Durango definitely shows off when it’s on the road. Six shades of a base coat are offered for the 2022  Durango, and buyers have the option to add the iconic racing stripes to their vehicles if they choose to. The colorway options for the base coat are Octane Red Pearl-Coat, F8 Green Clear-Coat, D8 Black Clear-Coat, Destroyer Gray Clear-Coat, White Knuckle Clear-Coat, and Redline 2 Pearl; each of which pairs beautifully with the stripe color options in Bright Blue, Gunmetal Low Gloss, Flame Red, and the SRT 392 trim Redline Stripe. 

Drivers will enjoy the LED features that the Durango brings, such as the LED signature Daytime Running Lamps and fog lamps, the available LED front turn signals, and the available automatic high-beam headlamps; which give added safety and comfort when driving down any road. Buyers can also enjoy the wide variety of distinctive wheel designs for that unmistakable road presence, including the 20-inch polished aluminum rims. With the Durango, the sky truly is the limit, as the available Class-Exclusive Stow N Place Roof Rack system allows for added storage of up to 150 pounds when all seats inside ar4e occupied.

Interior Features

The Durango boasts a new third-row seating configuration that allows for up to seven passengers to sit comfortably within the vehicle so no one is ever left behind on any adventure. The third row also includes a 60/40 split-folding bench that allows for more room for any bulky cargo, should anyone need it. The second row can easily be folded down with the push of a button to make access to the third row easy and efficient. No matter what buyers need or choose to fold their seats for, they have the option of over 50 seating configurations to arrange the interior to fit each of their needs, be it more space for cargo or passengers. The spacious 85.1 maximum cubic feet of cargo space offered within the Durango is more than enough for every journey, comfortably and safely!  Climbing inside the vehicle, there are 13 interior design themes (depending on the trim) that range from premium cloth, to Capri leather, all the way to Nappa leather. There’s something for everyone!

Standards

An 8.4-inch touchscreen is the center of attention, literally, and boasts some incredible features. It’s perfectly sculpted atop the dashboard, making it seamlessly fit into it. It allows Apple Carplay as well as Android Auto, and has the availability to add SiriusXM Guardian for roadside assistance, SiriusXM as a whole with over 150 channels of music, news, and entertainment, and navigation integration directly onto the screen. The available 10.1-inch screen has an even snappier Uconnect system, and both systems support high-quality audio when connected via Bluetooth.

Buyers can take on the road with confidence thanks to the safety technology integrated within the 2022 Durango. Carve corners with ease and confidence thanks to the All-Speed Traction Control that prevents the vehicle from rolling over and the Electronic Stability Control that monitors steering input and vehicle motion to maintain directional control. Standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert allows drivers to remain aware of their surroundings whether in motion or stopped. Available features include the Automated Emergency Braking system, Adaptive Cruise Control, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, and Forward Collision Warning with active braking!

Options and Warranty

There are six different trim options available for the 2022 Durango, all of which include the SXT, the GT, the GT Plus, the R/T, the Citadel, and the R/T Plus. While each brings unique features that are worth looking into, it is recommended to consider the GT as it comes with some pretty amped-up features and has the availability for any upgrades buyers may want to add to it! 

Dodge provides customers with a standard warranty, with extended warranties available for purchase. The limited warranty covers customers for three years of 36,000 miles and the Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles. Maintenance is not covered and is a separately purchased service!
