The “Big Finish” Campaign for FCA has Already Begun
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is at it again with their usual advertising campaigns. Just like the summer campaign where FCA and Apple teamed up to highlight the “Apple Experience” with Apple CarPlay this year, FCA is picking select vehicles from their lineup to highlight the features of for the winter. Known as the “Big Finish” Advertising campaign, the first of the collection went live Monday, November 5, 2018. Interested in the kinds of ads the holidays bring?
The year-end “Big-Finish” advertising campaign by FCA can be viewed on various media platforms – television, social, and digital. Due to the contract between FCA and Interscope Records, Pop Rock band OneRepublic will be performing music for these commercials, along with other well-known artists and actors/actresses. Check out each commercial below.
Featuring music by OneRepublic, White Christmas, the commercial, “Colorful Christmas”, makes use of the name in their ad. The entire Jeep lineup is displayed throughout the commercial with many different backdrops to give viewers a more realistic experience of how the Jeep model looks on the streets, in the snow, or along an emerald green forest. It’s called visual merchandising, and it’s working.
Thanksgiving has passed and we know the traditional rule. Christmas music and decorations start going up after Black Friday. To keep in tune, Dodge put together a commercial about Santa’s workshop, except the highlight isn’t all the children’s toys. The 2019 Dodge Durango, Dodge Charger, and new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat are all in the spotlight. Santa’s sleigh also gets some updates when equipped with the 797-horsepower Challenger Redeye engine, dual exhaust tips, six piston Brembo brakes and seven-passenger seating.
Gwen Stefani debuts her new album “You Make it Feel Like Christmas” while performing the song of the same name in the background of clips of people working on a community project for the holidays. The commercial shows off various Ram truck models and their capabilities. In the end, everyone helps build a life-size gingerbread float.
Popular actress Kathryn Hahn returned to the “Big Finish” campaign with the Chrysler Pacifica and a new type of caroling. By making use of the available 20-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Surround Sound System in the Chrysler Pacifica, Kathryn and her child actors go around the neighborhood blasting the original rap track “Lit Christmas” by Scott Stallone ft. MC Rellik and Stones Throw Records. That’s one way to re-imagine the holiday beat.
“We set out to accomplish three objectives with our Big Finish campaign – it must be unique to each brand personality, it must be impactful to help sell cars during the automotive industry’s biggest selling season, and it must be relevant…Our challenge during the holidays – when we are oversaturated with holiday music and bells ringing — is how do you get more than your fair share of attention if you use the same device as everyone else, and at the same time remain true to the identity of our brands? The answer, as always, is the creative twist. From a rap reimagination of ‘Jingle Bells,’ to the heavy metal track ‘Santa Claus is Back in Town,’ to enlisting artists such as OneRepublic and Gwen Stefani to put their own spin on holiday music, it gives us the opportunity to hear a story that speaks to the moment and stands out at the same time.” – Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, FCA
