Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Apple CarPlay

We’re headlong into the summer of 2018, and to start things off with a little flavor, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is also starting its 2018 Edition of Summer Advertising. The campaign for this year is in partnership with Apple and will be featuring music from several music artists across commercials that will broadcast on digital and social media over the summer. During this time, several FCA vehicle brands will be advertised via the commercial – Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and FIAT. Another objective is to make more consumers aware of a new offer by Apple.

It all started in June 2018 when the FCA offered customers in the U.S. and Canada six months free of Apple Music for new users and three months free for existing customers with the purchase of any new Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep or Ram vehicle with standard CarPlay support. Ah, so that’s where Apple comes in. Not only does Apple Music play a part in this campaign, but we can be assured every commercial will feature Apple CarPlay. Just keep in mind for those Android users, every vehicle that comes with Apple CarPlay compatibility most likely can also support Android Auto.

Ten music artists are being featured in total during this campaign, and those whose music is featured in the commercials are OneRepublic, Alice Cooper, Brothers Osborne, Dej Loaf & Leon, and Nicky Blitz. Other music artists, such as Sofia Reyes, Dave Cobb, Gus Wenner, and Kathryn Hahn worked together with the above artists to make curated playlists for the Summer of Jeep campaign, now available on Apple Music. Expect to hear some of this music in commercials while actors use Apple CarPlay and demonstrate its ability to let consumers listen to music, make calls, send and receive messages, play audiobooks and podcasts, get directions that change in real-time based on traffic conditions, and more.

For the Dodge brand commercials, “Under My Wheels” by Alice Cooper will be playing to provide high-octane fun with two 60-second videos titled “The Rider”. The video portrays a nervous assistant using CarPlay to play “Under My Wheels” and make multiple errands for none other than Alice Cooper and his trailer. The Dodge Durango SRT is featured in this commercial.

Featuring the song, “Liberated”, by Dej Loaf and Leon Bridges, “Fingerdance” shows off the skills of a very talented hand model wearing tiny shoes while dancing to the music.

“Girls Night Out” for Chrysler with a group of ladies using Apple CarPlay to navigate, answer texts, and etc. The commercial of course features the Chrysler Pacifica.
