Highlights of the 2019 Durango
As we enter the second half of the year, more and more 2019 models are making their debut. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) recently debuted their new 2019 Dodge Durango lineup, showcasing significant upgrades in each and every trim. In a market that is fueled by the SUV, Dodge remains a competitive player thanks to their continuous innovation and desire for improvement. The 2019 Durango is offered in five trims – SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T and SRT – all available with all-wheel-drive capability.
The base Durango SXT will now offer available leather seats and a third row, both options that were previously limited to higher trim levels. Meanwhile, the Durango GT will receive the most upgrades – ditching its signature crosshairs grille for a more aggressive and sporty performance-inspired look. Just like the R/T and SRT models, the 2019 Durango GT will now have the performance front fascia and LED fog lamps, complete with an available SRT-inspired vented performance hood as an optional upgrade. These sporty upgrades won’t affect the fuel economy of the GT trim, as it retains its fuel efficient 2.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. Durango GT models now offer available cloth seating and 20-inch wheel design in Brass Monkey or Satin Carbon finish, all-new options in 2019.
Next up in the Durango lineup is the chrome-clad Citadel model, upgraded to standard second-row captain’s chairs – with a seating capacity of six instead of seven since the second-row bench is no longer an option. A 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system is available as an upgrade as well. The Citadel continues to mix luxury and power, with its leather-lined interior and the available 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine.
The Durango R/T experiences very few changes in its 2019 model-year – the availability of the 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and optional sepia-toned leather seats are the only two changes. With its 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine and classic performance-inspired looks, the R/T remains one of the fastest and most capable three-row SUVs in the market. The Durango SRT model remains the crown jewel of the lineup, with its HEMI V8 delivering 475 horsepower and a best-in-class towing capability of 8,700 pounds. For the 2019 model-year, the SRT will offer available red seat belts and lightweight, high-performance Brembo brakes with two-piece rotors. The 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system will be available as an option on the SRT, and 20-inch wheels in Brass Monkey and Matte Vapor finish are available as well.
All 2019 Durango models will offer an integrated trailer brake with the optional Trailer Tow package, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross path detection available as a freestanding option across all trims. Dodge introduced three new body colors – F8 Green, Reactor Blue, and Destroyer Gray – all available after the 2019 lineup launches.
The 2019 Dodge Durango has a starting MSRP of $29,995 (plus destination fee) and will arrive at dealership lots in the fall of 2018. Follow Cape Coral CDJR on Facebook to stay in the loop and be one of the first to get a glimpse at the new Dodge Durango fleet!
