In the midsize SUV category, the Jeep Grand Cherokee can’t be beaten! It just earned its third consecutive win in the AutoPacific 2019 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. A repeat winner, the rugged, popular model has received nine AutoPacific awards over the past ten years.

“FCA has done an outstanding job understanding and delivering vehicles and features that delight consumers,” said the president of AutoPacific George Peterson. “They’ve done this in the face of strong competition and a challenging retail environment.” More than 50,000 owners of the 2019 model year cars and light-duty trucks have shared their opinion on 32 attributes that distinguish their rides.

Topics such as the design of the vehicle’s interior, how well the vehicles performed, and how comfortable the cabin was. On the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, there is a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine which has an eight-speed automatic transmission, rated at 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Driving the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee:

With the impressive off-road credentials, the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a remarkably civilized prospect. When driving in both city and highway driving, the Grand Cherokee exhibits the ride comfort of a luxury SUV with the handling and power of a large sedan. All models show excellent cornering and braking, with minimal lean in hard turns with the straight-line performance which varies by engine choice.

Once off-road; however, the Grand Cherokee’s generous ground clearance and numerous 4×4 systems provide the confidence to go places, the competitors above dare not tread. Those interested in what the Grand Cherokee can do on-road rather than off will no doubt gravitate to the performance models. The Grand Cherokee has a 475-horsepower SRT trim claiming a 4.8-second 0-60-mph time, and the insane 707-horsepower Trackhawk slicing that time to a mere 3.4 seconds.

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Interior:

The Grand Cherokee goes from a reasonably comfortable SUV to one capable of giving some luxury brands a run for their money, depending on the trim. All models have 2-row/5-passenger configurations. The layout means that it has good room for passengers and a 36.3 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats.

That space expands to 68.3 cubic feet when folded and base Laredo models look the part with a cloth. Manually adjusted front seats, but stepping up just one trim brings power operation to the driver. Higher-end models are awash in leather and feature heated and ventilated front seats.

The vehicle has a handsome and muscular design. The Grand Cherokee has 8.6 inches of ground clearance, with the performance-oriented SRT model sitting slightly lower (at 8.3 inches), and the high-performance Trackhawk lower still (at 8.1 inches). The newest Trackhawk stands out with the quad tailpipes as well.

It also gets 18-inch off-road wheels, distinctive red tow hooks, and an anti-glare hood decal. Despite it being tall, the Grand Cherokee is easy to get into. Although the liftgate can be a bit difficult to reach when it’s fully extended, buyers can opt for the power-operated liftgate.
