Cape Coral Taste of the Town

In an effort to become good stewards of the community, we at Cape Coral Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram seek out ways to truly participate within the community. As some of you may know, the Fort Myers “Taste of the Town” fundraiser is about to take place this weekend. Joining the panel of “Celebrity Judges” is our own General Manager, Jay Ganzi!

Held on the first Sunday of November every year, the “Taste of the Town” is an all-day event for families and friends to get together. Held as a fundraiser to raise money to give back to the community, attendees can enjoy good local food and awesome live music throughout the event. Every year, the fundraiser is aimed at a well-known community service program, raising funds for the Junior League of Fort Myers. This program is aimed at the youth and works to combat childhood obesity.

Several bands have been signed up to play throughout the day. The current lineup is “The Collective”, an original band from Southwest Florida that plays Alternative Rock, playing from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. “Three Crooked Steps” will be performing from 1:45 pm to 3:15 pm. This three piece band mixes lovely-sounding guitar with funky drums. Then, from 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm will be “Gimi Jimi”, the ultimate Jimi Hendrix show band for those looking to relive the 70s. Clothing and accessories from the 70s are highly encouraged, including free peace and love!

If interested in the winners of the event, then you’ll want to stick around for the announcements. The judges at the panel will be sampling a variety of restaurant entries that will be judged based on presentation, taste, and overall creativity in three categories: Appetizer, Entrée, and Dessert. Find out the best dish and the runner up in each category, as well as the overall “Best of Taste” Winner. Since all of the dishes come from well-known local restaurants, the selection will not only be diverse but high in quality. It’s a great way to “taste” your way around the town!

For 2018, the following restaurants have entered the competition:

The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen
