With the 2019 Ram 1500 lighting up the sales charts and consumers spending more on pickup trucks now more than ever, it’s easy to understand why special edition trucks continue to come out. On September 27th, 2018, Ram debuted their 2018 2500/3500 Heavy Duty Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition.

The 2018 Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition builds on the Longhorn’s unique Southwestern features and design cues by adding a suede headliner against exceptionally contrasted interior colors such as Black and Cattle Tan. On the outside, there will be no mistaking what kind of truck the consumer is driving. Exterior upgrades include body-colored bumpers and side-steps, and a distinguishable “LONGHORN” badge that stretches across the width of the tailgate. Additionally, the Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition is available is six colors – Walnut Brown, Brilliant Black Crystal, Bright White, Pearl White, Delmonico Red, and Granite Crystal Metallic.

“The 2018 Heavy Duty Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition is the ultimate combination of capability, refinement and towing content,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Truck Brand, FCA – North America. “Truck buyers at this level expect to see and feel the highest quality materials. The Ram Rodeo brings together the advanced technology and towing content in America’s longest-lasting truck.”

While delivering luxury is one of the primary goals of this truck, its standard trailering equipment checks all the boxes in the work department. The Ram Rodeo Edition features a fifth-wheel/gooseneck trailer prep package and a bed-view camera to offer consumers a factory solution for heavy trailers and providing a clear view when aligning a trailer with the truck hitch point. Furthermore, the Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition delivers a rear air suspension for additional comfort and expertly designed load-leveling when hauling a payload or trailer. For single-rear-wheel trucks, consumers will get 20-inch aluminum wheels, and dual-rear-wheel trucks will ride on 17-inch polished aluminum rims.

As far as configurations, the Ram Rodeo Edition is available with a crew cab or mega cab, and the engine options consist of a 6.4-liter V8 engine and the 6.7-liter Cummins I6 diesel engine. In addition to all of the top-of-the-line features that the 2018 Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition has to offer, it has also been awarded the Luxury Truck of Texas Award two years in a row. Needless to say, the legendary truck brand is highly preferred by ranchers and farmers in the Lone Star State.

Not only is the Longhorn trim earning a special edition, but the Ram 2500 Power Wagon recently revealed its all-new Mojave Sand Option Package. Additionally, Ram also revealed its all-new 2018 Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab truck built specifically for farmers and those consumers who work in agriculture environments. It’s got all the tech needed to make a day on the farm easier than ever

The Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition has a starting MSRP of $60,790 (plus destination fee), and the Ram 3500 Ram Rodeo starts at $71,260 (plus destination fee). Both will be available during the third quarter of 2018. To stay updated on everything Ram related, follow us on Cape Coral DCJR Social Media.
